PTI Rallies in Punjab: Government Imposes Restrictions

The Punjab government has imposed Section 144(6) in Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, and Mianwali, banning all forms of public gatherings as PTI prepares for a rally in southern Punjab. PTI has been protesting against various issues, including the imprisonment of their founder and delays in implementing Supreme Court verdicts.

Despite strict government guidelines for rallies, clashes have erupted between PTI workers and authorities. Imran Khan, the incarcerated PTI founder, has called for countrywide protests for the “independence of judiciary,” defying bans on gatherings in Islamabad.

PTI plans to hold protests in Mianwali, Faisalabad, and Bahawalpur, with more large protests announced in Multan. The Punjab government cited security concerns and threats of terrorism as reasons for imposing restrictions on PTI rallies.

Recent PTI gatherings in Punjab have faced interference and arrests by law enforcement agencies, raising tensions between the party and authorities. As the political landscape heats up, the conflict between PTI and the government shows no signs of cooling down.
