Hard work and dedication pay off: Story of a 19-year-old who secured an MBBS seat against all odds

Despite facing financial challenges and coming from an impoverished background, 19-year-old Sankarshan Mandal, hailing from Tumudibandha village, Kandhamal district, cleared the NEET exam and secured a seat in Government Medical College and Hospital Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu. However, his family is unable to afford the admission fee of Rs 93,000.

Sankarshan’s parents, daily wage labourers, have reached out to Odisha’s Chief Minister for assistance. His mother expressed pride in his achievements but acknowledged their inability to fund his education. Hoping for aid from government or non-governmental organizations, the community is rallying behind Sankarshan to ensure his bright future is not hindered by financial constraints.
