LP accuses PLASIEC of recruiting PDP members as returning officers

The Labour Party in Plateau State has raised concerns about the recruitment of majority PDP members as Returning Officers for the upcoming local government elections by PLASIEC. This move contradicts claims of a free and fair election by Governor Caleb Mutfwang and PLASIEC Chairman, Plangji Cishak.

In a press conference, Hon. Fom Dalyop Chollom highlighted the biased recruitment process and its implications on the election’s credibility. He urged the governor to address the issue promptly to uphold democratic values and neutrality in the electoral process.

Chollom also addressed the vandalism of their campaign materials, emphasizing the LP’s commitment to contesting the 2027 general elections. He called on Plateau residents to support LP candidates in the upcoming election on October 9, 2024.

Despite challenges, the LP remains resilient and determined to provide a platform for fair representation in the state’s political landscape. Plateau residents are encouraged to exercise their voting rights and support the party’s vision for a democratic and inclusive future.
