The Governor of Kogi State, Mr Usman Ododo, has launched an exciting new initiative to empower the youth of the state. The Ododo Youth Empowerment and Skill Acquisition Programme aims to provide 250 young individuals with top-notch training in areas such as CNG conversion, welding, automobile mechatronics, solar system installation, and more. These skills will equip the youth for success in today’s evolving economy, especially as Nigeria moves towards cleaner energy solutions.
Beneficiaries of the programme will receive various forms of support, including stipends, accommodation, starter packs, and assistance with business registration. This initiative is a crucial step towards reducing unemployment, addressing youth restiveness, and preparing young people to make meaningful contributions to society. To further deepen inclusivity, the governor also appointed 717 Ward Special Assistants, ensuring that governance is truly participatory and connected to the grassroots.
