Israel orders Lebanese to evacuate, head 60km north

The Israeli army recently ordered tens of thousands of Lebanese residents to evacuate their homes and move 60km away from the border due to what they described as a ground invasion. The military spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, made the announcement on social media, urging people to prioritize their safety and avoid proximity to Hezbollah forces.

However, the reasoning behind the specific towns selected for evacuation and the decision to move residents so far north remains unclear. Additionally, cities like Saida and Tyre were not instructed to leave their homes, leaving questions about the criteria for evacuation.

Despite the Israeli military’s claim of the invasion, Hezbollah denied any Israeli troops entering Lebanese soil. Reports indicate heavy shelling in southern Lebanon but no direct clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces. The situation remains tense, with both sides preparing for potential conflict.

As the crisis escalates, Lebanon’s caretaker prime minister highlighted the severity of the situation, seeking international aid amid estimates of hundreds of thousands displaced by the escalating conflict.
