Iranian Ballistic Missile Attack on Israel: U.S. Response
U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan confirmed that Iran’s recent ballistic missile attack on Israel did not result in any deaths or damage to military assets. The attack, involving over 180 missiles, was effectively intercepted, thanks to joint efforts between the U.S. military and the IDF.
Sullivan praised the professionalism of the IDF and emphasized ongoing collaboration to assess the attack’s impact. President Joe Biden had warned Iran of severe consequences for attacking Israel, signaling a significant escalation in tensions.
International condemnation followed the strike, with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer urging de-escalation. Starmer even spoke with leaders in the region to address the situation.
