Iran reports Israel hit with hypersonic missiles

Iran made headlines on Tuesday when they used hypersonic missiles for the first time in a strike on Israel, according to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The IRGC claimed to have used cutting-edge Fattah-2 rockets to bypass air defenses and successfully hit targets, including Israeli military bases and tanks.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that around 180 missiles were launched, with the majority being intercepted. Despite the successful defense, a Palestinian man was tragically killed in the West Bank by a missile fragment. This attack marked a significant escalation in tensions between the two countries.

Hypersonic missiles, which travel at speeds up to 25 times the speed of sound, are a new addition to Iran’s military arsenal. Tehran cited recent killings of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders as well as an Iranian general as motivation for the strike.

As both Israel and Iran exchange threats, the situation remains tense, with the potential for further conflict looming on the horizon.
