The decision on whether the Indian cricket team will travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy next year will be made by the government, according to Board of Control for Cricket in India vice-president Rajeev Shukla. The event is scheduled to be held from Feb 19 to March 9 in Pakistan.
Shukla emphasized that for international tours, permission from the government is always sought. He stated, “It’s up to the government to decide whether our team should go to any country or our team should not go to any country.” The final decision will be respected by the BCCI.
With uncertainty looming, the cricketing world awaits the government’s call on the matter. The controversy adds an element of intrigue to the upcoming tournament, with the fate of the Indian team hanging in the balance.
