How are foreign embassies in Beirut responding to Israel invasion?

As tensions rise in Lebanon following Israel’s announcement of a ground invasion, several countries have initiated measures to evacuate their nationals from the conflict zone. With limited commercial flights available, many embassies are arranging chartered flights to ensure the safety of their citizens.

Cyprus has emerged as a temporary host for evacuated nationals before their repatriation, with agreements in place with a dozen countries. The UK, France, Germany, the USA, Canada, Turkey, Japan, and the Philippines are among the nations actively coordinating evacuations.

With thousands of citizens in Lebanon, these countries are prioritizing the safety and well-being of their nationals. From arranging military transport planes to deploying navy vessels, each country is taking proactive measures to ensure a smooth evacuation process for their citizens.

Lebanon’s General Security also announced visa-free travel to various countries for Lebanese citizens, providing easier travel options amidst the conflict. Additionally, the UN Refugee Agency reported a significant influx of refugees into Syria as a result of the escalating tensions in Lebanon.
