Armenia hosts EEU PM meeting in 80 chars

The Heads of government of Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) member states have convened in Yerevan for the organization’s Intergovernmental Council session and the plenary session of the Eurasian Economic Forum. This important gathering is attended by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin of Russia, Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko of Belarus, Prime Minister Oljas Bektenov of Kazakhstan, and Prime Minister Akylbek Zhaparov of Kyrgyzstan. Together, they will discuss the integration agenda, internal market activities, and ways to enhance external ties within the union.

Key topics on the agenda include the 2030 industrial cooperation project, import replacement initiatives, and the adoption of a transportation policy plan for 2024-2026. Additionally, the financing of the Eurasian Economic Commission and the EEU court will be addressed. As Armenia holds the EEU presidency in 2024, this session holds particular significance for the country.

Notably, observers from Cuba, Iran, and Uzbekistan are also in attendance, underscoring the broad international interest in the EEU’s activities.
