A man accused of plotting to kill Donald Trump at the former president’s Florida golf course pleaded not guilty to all charges, appearing in court in a beige inmate’s outfit. Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, looked different from his earlier detention hearing, sporting black glasses and a clean-shaven face.
During the brief hearing, Routh motioned to reporters and audience members before entering a not guilty plea, waiving charges reading, and requesting a jury trial. Federal prosecutors allege Routh attempted to kill Trump and face life imprisonment if convicted on all counts.
Jesse Kirsch reported from West Palm Beach, Florida, and David K. Li from New York City.
