Russia shoots down 100+ Ukrainian drones in major attack

Over 100 Ukrainian drones were shot down over Russia, causing a wildfire and setting an apartment block ablaze in one of the largest barrages seen since Moscow invaded Ukraine. Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported 125 drones shot down across seven regions, with Volgograd hit the hardest. Voronezh and Rostov regions also saw drone activity, with falling debris causing damage and wildfires.

In Zaporizhzhia, 16 civilians were injured in Russian attacks, damaging residential buildings and transport links. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy condemned the attacks and emphasized the importance of remembering past atrocities, like the Babyn Yar massacre.

The Ukrainian military warned of possible Russian offensive operations in the Zaporizhzhia region as Russian drones were launched over Ukraine. Despite the ongoing conflict, Zelenskyy called for upholding humanity, life, and justice.

As tensions escalate, both sides report drone activity and military build-up, highlighting the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the crisis.
