Pope Francis condemned Israel’s aggression on Gaza and Lebanon, calling it “immoral” and “disproportionate.” He criticized Tel Aviv’s military dominance surpassing the rules of war, highlighting the importance of morality even in times of conflict. The Pope emphasized the need for proportionality in defense actions, denouncing any excessive use of force as immoral.
In addition, Pope Francis voiced his concern for the people of Gaza, communicating daily with a Catholic parish in the region. He expressed skepticism about the parties’ willingness to achieve peace, denouncing the killing of Palestinian children by Israeli forces. The Pope continues to advocate for an end to the ongoing conflict, praying for the safety of civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip.
