PIA flight from Dubai to Multan suffers tyre burst incident

MULTAN: PIA Flight Faces Technical Issue During Takeoff

A PIA flight from Dubai to Multan encountered a technical problem when all tyres of the aircraft burst during takeoff. The Airbus A320, carrying 172 passengers, had to abort its departure due to this unexpected issue. As the aircraft accelerated on the runway, an engine malfunction warning prompted the captain to engage the emergency brake system, leading to the tyre burst.

Passengers were immediately transferred to the airport lounge for safety while a team from PIA’s engineering department was dispatched to Dubai to resolve the fault. Affected passengers were accommodated on alternative flights.

In other news, the Privatisation Commission extended the bidding date for PIA’s privatisation to October 31, 2024, surprising companies involved. The abrupt decision could impact the process, and aviation sources express concerns over the extension.

Despite the extension, six private companies, including Blue World City and Air Blue, remain in the race for PIA’s privatisation.
