PDP urges Nigerians to fight against APC’s tyranny, exploitation

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is calling on Nigerians to mark the 2024 Independence Day anniversary by reigniting the spirit of nationalism in defense of democracy and national sovereignty against what it describes as “emerging totalitarianism” by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The PDP urges Nigerians not to succumb to the bullying tactics of the APC government, which it accuses of undermining the Constitution, weakening citizens, compromising democratic institutions, and ruling Nigeria as a fiefdom. The party emphasizes that true independence involves the freedom of citizens to express themselves, engage in legitimate pursuits, and participate in governance through elections.

Lamenting the actions of the APC, the PDP criticizes the party for stifling the fundamentals of Nigerian independence, disregarding the well-being of the people, and returning the nation to a state of bondage. It highlights the reversal of progress made in democracy, credible elections, personal freedom, and economic development under the PDP’s leadership.

The PDP calls on the APC to listen to Nigerians, review its anti-people policies, and take immediate steps to address the country’s challenges, such as reducing fuel prices and stabilizing the economy for the benefit of all citizens.
