Rutte’s Journey to the NATO Top Job
In a surprising turn of events, Mark Rutte went from resigning as the prime minister of the Netherlands to potentially becoming the next NATO Secretary General. After his government coalition collapsed in July 2023, Rutte initially claimed he was retiring from politics. However, by October, he had set his sights on succeeding Jens Stoltenberg at NATO.
