The disputes between Kyiv and Budapest often revolve around Ukraine’s language laws, which aim to prioritize Ukrainian language education. Hungary has raised concerns about minority rights, demanding improvements such as the restoration of national schools and political representation.
While challenges remain, Ukraine has taken steps to address these issues, including approving changes to national minorities law in 2023. These efforts align with recommendations for Ukraine’s potential accession to the European Union.
