Karnataka HC rejects plea against NIA probe in Bajrang Dal activist’s murder

In a recent court case involving the invocation of the UAPA Act and entrustment of investigation to the NIA, the central government defended its actions by stating that the accused had intentions to strike terror in society. The court, after examining the evidence, noted that the government had recorded satisfaction in invoking these measures. The bench emphasized that terrorism knows no bounds and poses a threat to the nation’s integrity.

The court also mentioned that the NIA had submitted a file containing witness statements and other materials, along with a recommendation for sanction. The bench clarified that if there are any concerns about the validity of the sanction order, those can be addressed during the trial court proceedings. Ultimately, the court found that this was not a case of absent sanction and rejected the petitioner’s arguments.

This case serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding national security and combating terrorism, regardless of the community involved. The decision highlights the need for thorough investigation and due process in such cases.
