The General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE) has announced a 24-hour general strike scheduled for November 20. The strike aims to draw attention to issues such as inflation, increasing rental and housing costs, and the importance of restoring collective labor rights.
GSEE, which represents private-sector workers, criticized the government for failing to address these concerns effectively. The organization emphasized the decline in workers’ purchasing power, which has reportedly decreased by 8% since 2019 due to government policies.
This decision to call for a general strike comes as a response to the government’s alleged lack of action in supporting private-sector workers and improving their financial situation.
