Tragedy struck Malkaderi village in Jigawa State as four teenage girls drowned in a pond. The incident occurred when five girls went swimming in the village pond, with only one surviving the ordeal. Police and divers conducted a rescue operation, but unfortunately, four girls lost their lives. The Commissioner of Police extended condolences to the families and urged parents to supervise their children closely and avoid swimming in bodies of water during the rainy season.
The victims were rushed to a health center, where four were pronounced dead and one survived after treatment. The bodies were released to their families for burial.
