A retired Permanent Secretary in Lagos State, Kunle Adegboye, calls on the government to prioritize education in the North to combat banditry and kidnapping. Speaking at the 50th anniversary of Fatima College 7074 Set, Adegboye emphasized the importance of educating Nigerian youths to prevent their recruitment into criminal activities.
He urged the government to take immediate action to address the issue, highlighting the impact of illiteracy on vulnerable young people. Adegboye suggested compulsory education or vocational training for youths to reduce insecurity in the country.
The National President of the college, Henry Otoibi, also emphasized the need to improve the standard of education by returning schools to their original owners. Otoibi praised the efforts of the 7074 set in maintaining the college’s reputation and advocated for a return to traditional values in education.
