BiH Border Police Foil 32-Person Smuggling

Recently, the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina successfully prevented the smuggling of 32 foreign citizens, including individuals from Turkey, Syria, and China, in three separate incidents. In the first case in the municipality of Ljubuški, 29 Turkish citizens were intercepted during a routine border check. A citizen of BiH was allegedly involved in this smuggling operation. Five of the Turkish citizens were found in a vehicle with BiH license plates, while the remaining 24 were apprehended nearby.

In another incident, a Syrian citizen was stopped by the Border Police Unit in Gradiška, while two Chinese citizens were intercepted by a mixed patrol of Bosnian and Croatian border police in Grude. All suspects involved in human smuggling were handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina for further proceedings.

Additionally, eight individuals wanted by Interpol, the courts, and the police were also identified at the border crossings. These successful operations demonstrate the dedication and efficiency of the Border Police in safeguarding the country’s borders and combating illegal activities.
