This comes as reports emerged that US was not informed of Israel’s airstrike on Hezbollah’s leader
The United States announced an increase in military presence in the Middle East in response to the Israel-Hezbollah conflict. Pentagon officials stated a readiness to support US forces as tensions heighten in the region.
Israel’s precise airstrike killed Hezbollah leaders, including Nasrallah chief Hassan Nasrallah and Hezbollah’s Southern Front commander Ali Karaki. The strike eliminated over 20 operatives at an underground headquarters in Beirut.
Reports suggest the US was not informed beforehand about Israel’s strike on Hezbollah. President Joe Biden confirmed the US had no prior knowledge or involvement in the airstrike.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin stated he had no advance warning but communicated with Israeli officials during the operation. The development could have significant implications for the Middle East as Israel refocuses on Hezbollah.
