Ukraine targets Russian military arsenal in Volgograd Oblast

In a bold move, Ukrainian forces targeted the Kotluban military arsenal in Russia’s Volgograd Oblast, as reported by the General Staff on Sept. 29. The facility stored and modernized missiles, including Iranian-made Shahed missiles, before being attacked. Despite heavy protection, Ukrainian units successfully completed the mission.

Earlier the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed to have shot down 67 Ukrainian-launched drones over Volgograd Oblast. However, Kyiv has been strategically using drone attacks to target Russian infrastructure and military installations, aiming to weaken the invading forces.

In a significant strike, Ukrainian drones caused a powerful explosion at a Russian arsenal in Toropets, Tver Oblast, as reported by a source in the Security Service of Ukraine. This attack followed a similar operation at the Tikhoretsk weapons depot in Krasnodar Krai.

These actions demonstrate Ukraine’s determination to resist the Russian invasion. While Russian officials downplay the impact of these strikes, Ukrainian forces continue to target key military facilities. The use of drones marks a pivotal strategy in Ukraine’s defense against the aggressor.
