Revolutionizing Licensing for Rickshaw Drivers in Punjab
In a recent development, authorities in Punjab have announced a dedicated day for issuing driving licenses to rickshaw drivers. This decision, made in a meeting between Additional IG Traffic and Secretary Transport, aims to enhance road safety and streamline the licensing process for this important segment of drivers.
Every Sunday, special driving tests will be conducted at designated licensing centers across the province for rickshaw drivers. Special counters have been set up at these centers, and the presence of Motor Vehicle Examiners during the tests will be ensured, as per the Secretary Transport.
The issuance of licenses to rickshaw drivers is expected to play a significant role in reducing traffic accidents, as highlighted by Additional IG Traffic. This initiative demonstrates a commitment to promoting road safety and ensuring that all drivers on the road meet the necessary standards.
