Poland’s Flooded Regions Face Continued State of Natural Disaster

Poland has extended the state of natural disaster to additional regions in response to severe flooding. Lower Silesia and Lubusz are now included in the declaration, covering areas like Wołów county, Głogów, Dąbie, and Krosno Odrzańskie. This expansion comes after initial declarations on September 16, which concentrated on counties in Lower Silesia, Opole, and Silesia. The government has been progressively adding areas to the list to address the increasing damage caused by the floods.

The disaster declaration enables the deployment of emergency resources and support to assist residents, businesses, and local authorities in mitigating the immediate effects of the disaster and facilitating recovery. This swift response is crucial for bringing relief and aiding in a faster recovery from the flood.
