The Lebanese Health Ministry announced plans to evacuate hospitals in southern Beirut as Israeli airstrikes escalate in the region.

Israeli airstrikes have targeted health facilities in southern Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of 11 medical personnel and injuries to 10 others. The Lebanese Civil Defense also reported casualties during the strikes in Beirut’s suburbs. The Health Ministry has called for the evacuation of hospitals in southern Beirut to accommodate patients from affected areas.

‘Suspend Non-Urgent Cases’

As the conflict intensifies, the ministry advises hospitals to suspend non-urgent cases to focus on critical patients. The ongoing violence has claimed over 700 lives and displaced thousands in Lebanon. The situation is further exacerbated by fears of a broader conflict following the killing of Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah.

Intensified Fighting

Hezbollah’s involvement in the conflict has escalated, raising concerns of a full-scale war with Israel. The history of Israeli occupation in Lebanon adds to the complexity of the situation, with Hezbollah committed to reclaiming occupied territories. The region remains on edge as tensions rise.
