Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi emphasized the importance of unity among Islamic states in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people at the OIC meeting. He highlighted the challenges facing the Muslim world and stated that the Palestinian issue is a top priority. As a founding member of the OIC, Iran has consistently supported efforts to address key challenges, particularly the Palestinian cause.
Gharibabadi reaffirmed Iran’s unconditional support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. He stressed the need for a referendum to determine the future of all Palestinians, whether living in their homeland or abroad. The diplomat expressed hope for sustainable peace, allowing Muslims, Christians, and Jews to coexist peacefully.
Furthermore, Gharibabadi condemned the Zionist regime for its illegal actions, including attacks on Iran’s diplomatic missions and the assassination of a Hamas leader. He called for measures to stop the regime’s brutality and crimes, labeling it a threat to regional and global peace.
To address the escalating aggression in Lebanon and the dire situation in Gaza, Gharibabadi proposed an emergency meeting of OIC member states’ leaders. He urged collective action to counter the threats posed by the Zionist regime and work towards peace and security in the region.
