Levelling serious allegations of corruption and extortion against Additional Director General of Police (Lokayukta-SIT) M Chandrashekhar, Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy demanded his immediate suspension and accused the Congress of misusing government machinery. Kumaraswamy provided documented evidence to support his claims, including a complaint by a junior policeman and accusations of harassment lodged with the home secretary.
The Union Minister also raised concerns about Chandrashekhar’s involvement in illegal activities, alleging his association with businessman Vijay Tata in extorting money from merchants and builders. Additionally, Kumaraswamy questioned the government’s inaction against Chandrashekhar, who is also investigating allegations against him.
Expressing dismay over the politicization of law enforcement, Kumaraswamy vowed to escalate the matter to the union home secretary and called for Chandrashekhar’s suspension. He emphasized the urgent need for accountability and transparency within the police force.
The former CM’s revelations shed light on a disturbing nexus of corruption and abuse of power, prompting calls for immediate action to address these systemic issues.
