Boris Johnson Reveals Plans to Steal Covid Vaccines in Dutch Plant
Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently disclosed that he had top defense officials devise a plan to steal AstraZeneca doses from a Dutch plant amid a UK-EU dispute during the peak of the Covid pandemic in 2021.
The Dutch plant, Halix, was holding around 5 million Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine doses, but the EU refused to send them to the UK, citing the needs of its citizens. Johnson gathered British defense officials to plan a secretive operation that involved sending teams to Amsterdam and navigating the Dutch canals at night to retrieve the doses.
Despite being warned about possible diplomatic fallout, Johnson was determined to secure the vaccines. The defense officials cautioned that avoiding detection during lockdowns would be challenging. Johnson criticized the EU for obstructing vaccine distribution and accused them of treating the UK with malice.
In a surprising turn, AstraZeneca later admitted potential side effects of the vaccine and withdrew it from circulation worldwide. Johnson’s revelation sheds light on the intense political maneuvering during the global vaccination effort.
