Solar Panel Market in Pakistan Facing Threat from Counterfeit Products

As the demand for solar panels in Pakistan continues to rise due to increasing electricity prices, the market is being flooded with substandard and counterfeit products, posing a serious threat to both consumers and reputable brands. According to LONGi, a solar technology company, unethical traders are passing off B-grade and C-grade panels as genuine A-grade products, leading to a loss of consumer trust and confidence in solar energy.

CEO Muhammad Faisal Zynergy Solutions highlighted the importance of purchasing A-grade panels from registered solar companies to ensure reliability and efficiency. He warned against falling for the lure of low-cost B-grade or C-grade panels and advised buyers to always opt for authorised dealers who import directly from manufacturers.

While efforts are being made by the government to regulate the solar panel market through measures like SRO 604, the issue persists as unauthorised traders continue to bypass checks. Consumers and businesses alike are urged to be vigilant and avoid falling victim to counterfeit products, as they not only undermine the credibility of the solar industry but also hinder Pakistan’s renewable energy goals.
