Deputy Governor’s Office Deserted, Staff Moved to JOOPSA

In a dramatic turn of events, the office of the Deputy Governor in Edo State was found deserted, with staff moved to the John Odigie Oyegun Public Service Agency (JOOPSA). It was alleged that Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor, was planning to forcefully re-enter the Edo State Government House to enforce his reinstatement, despite a pending appeal challenging the court ruling.
Despite efforts to reach Shaibu, he remained unreachable. The state government expressed concerns about the potential chaos his actions might bring, especially after a previous incident that led to the death of a police officer.
In response, Shaibu’s spokesperson dismissed the allegations as propaganda, emphasizing that the election had been decided. Similarly, his lawyer condemned the claims as baseless.
The situation remains tense as the state government seeks intervention to prevent any breach of peace. With the appeal pending, the unfolding events add a layer of uncertainty to the political landscape in Edo State.
