Denmark pledges a hefty investment of 4.2 billion Danish kroner ($628 million) into Ukraine’s arms production, supporting the country’s defense capabilities. Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen sealed agreements during his visit to Kyiv, emphasizing Denmark’s commitment to Ukraine’s freedom struggle. A significant portion of the fund, 1.3 billion kroner ($200 million), stems from the Danish government, with the remainder sourced from profits obtained from frozen Russian assets.
This substantial investment follows Denmark’s earlier allocations, including 130 million Danish kroner ($19.5 million) for Ukraine’s energy infrastructure restoration and a $115 million military aid package. Furthermore, Copenhagen promises additional F-16 fighter jets transfers to Ukraine, building on the 19 aircraft pledged previously. Ukraine anticipates acquiring Mirage 2000 jets and is in discussions for Saab JAS 39 Gripen and Eurofighter Typhoon fighters.
