Anxious man tips police to R5m drug stash in Cape Town

Over the weekend, police in Cape Town made a significant drug bust after discovering a stash worth millions of rand. Officers on routine patrol in Ruyterwacht became suspicious of a man standing next to a white Chevrolet Optra who appeared jittery.

Acting on their intuition, the officers searched the man and uncovered a significant amount of drugs on his person. Further investigation led them to a nearby house where they found even more illicit substances,” said police spokesperson Sgt Wesley Twigg.

The haul included 87,058 Mandrax tablets, unidentified white tablets, rock cocaine, and crystal meth, with an estimated street value of R5m. The 35-year-old suspect is set to face charges in the Goodwood magistrate’s court.
