Russian forces launched a drone attack on the Ukrainian southern Odesa region, targeting the port city of Izmail. The assault led to the deaths of three civilians and injuries to eleven others, including a child. Significant damage was inflicted on homes, cars, and structures, resulting in several fires. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russian forces deployed 32 Shahed drones, a ballistic missile, and cruise missiles in the attack. Ukrainian air defense successfully intercepted 24 drones, with one breaching Romanian airspace.
The day prior, Russian forces launched a similar attack on Kyiv, releasing 78 “Shahed” kamikaze drones and six missiles. The onslaught prompted a citywide air alert as Ukrainian Air Forces engaged combat UAVs approaching from the north. The attacks resulted in fires and damage to buildings and vehicles in the Pechersk district.
