In preparation for the local elections in October 2024, UN Women in Bosnia and Herzegovina conducted 11 training sessions for women politicians in June and July. These sessions focused on political leadership and campaign management, part of a program dedicated to empowering women in politics in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Led by 14 certified trainers, the sessions aimed to increase the number of women candidates in elections and their involvement in decision-making processes. Participants gained valuable skills in areas such as transformational leadership, campaign preparation, communication, voter engagement, and financial planning.
The training received positive feedback, with participants expressing improved confidence and knowledge in political processes. The sessions were hailed as dynamic and beneficial, with plans to continue the series leading up to the next elections in 2026.
Overall, UN Women’s commitment to empowering women in political leadership in Bosnia and Herzegovina remains strong, with a focus on supporting elected women, providing opportunities for networking and exchange, and further training sessions in the future.
