Qatar Expands Agrifood Investments in Algeria

Qatar is diversifying its food imports by significantly expanding investments in Algeria’s agricultural sector. The deepening economic ties between the two nations showcase both countries prioritizing agriculture to enhance food security.

Al Rayyan Agricultural has been granted a concession covering 1,811 hectares in Hassi Fehal, Algeria, to invest in strategic crops. The Algerian government is supportive of this venture, providing necessary permits and administrative procedures to facilitate the project’s progress.

On another front, Baladna is advancing a mega-project in Adrar, aiming to meet half of Algeria’s powdered milk demand and supplement the local market with red meat. The initiative is expected to create jobs, contribute to national cattle stock growth, and enhance food security.

The partnerships between Qatar and Algeria underscore mutual economic interests, with both countries benefiting from the growing collaboration. The investments highlight a positive momentum in economic cooperation, driven by shared visions and strategic alliances.

Qatari investments in Algeria not only strengthen bilateral relations but also contribute significantly to the country’s economic development. The increasing presence of Qatari businesses in various sectors indicates a promising future for the partnership between the two nations.
