PTI readies for protest in fortified city today – Pakistan

The Punjab government has taken strict measures to prevent a PTI protest in Rawalpindi, banning all public gatherings and deploying 4,000 police personnel along with Rangers to maintain law and order. Despite the hurdles, PTI leaders have vowed to gather at Liaquat Bagh for a peaceful political public gathering. The government has imposed Section 144, prohibiting all kinds of gatherings, in Rawalpindi and neighboring districts.

PTI leaders urge supporters to reach the venue on time, as security measures will be in place to prevent any protests. Despite these restrictions, PTI Lahore president Sheikh Imtiaz Mahmood has assured that the movement for the independence of judiciary will continue.

However, the planned protest has irked local traders, who fear disruption to their businesses. Traders Association President Shahid Ghafoor Paracha has demanded a separate space for protests to avoid disturbances to daily activities.

With tensions rising, it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold in Rawalpindi amidst efforts to uphold peace and order.
