Dhour el-Choueir, a town in northern Metn, Lebanon, has opened its doors to over 400 people displaced by Israel’s bombing of southern and eastern Lebanon. The town’s municipal building is overflowing with donations from residents, showing solidarity amidst political and sectarian tensions.
Despite divisions in Lebanese society, the people of Dhour el-Choueir have welcomed their fellow citizens with open arms, setting aside differences to support those in need. Similar acts of solidarity are seen in other parts of Lebanon, with people coming together to provide shelter, aid, and comfort to the displaced.
As the conflict escalates, over 700 people have been killed in the attacks, and more than 118,000 displaced, highlighting the urgent need for unity and support. While some towns have refused shelter to displaced Lebanese, the call for solidarity remains strong, emphasizing the importance of coming together as a nation.
