Lawyers in Bauchi State are calling for the government to enlist the help of national anti-corruption agencies in the fight against corruption, expressing their lack of confidence in the Bauchi State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission. The Lawyers for the Cause of Bauchi made their stance clear at a press conference, citing a recent judgment that invalidated the commission.
According to the Public Relations Officer, Bala Hussaini, the lawyers are dedicated to promoting the rule of law and combating corruption, especially during challenging times. They are urging the government to refer corruption cases to established agencies like the EFCC and ICPC for proper investigation.
The lawyers highlighted the importance of upholding legal standards and ensuring that actions against corruption are valid and effective.
