Tokyo Urges Citizens to Leave Lebanon Amid Escalating Tensions

In light of the recent violence in Lebanon, Japan is urging its citizens to evacuate the country. Following Israeli airstrikes that have killed hundreds in Hezbollah strongholds, the Japanese government is taking measures to ensure the safety of its citizens abroad. Chief cabinet secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi has advised Japanese residents in Lebanon to leave while commercial flights are still available.

Reports indicate that Japan is making arrangements to send military aircraft to Jordan for potential evacuation missions. The C-2 transport aircraft is expected to assist in evacuating approximately 50 Japanese citizens from Lebanon. Foreign minister Yoko Kamikawa expressed deep concern over the situation, calling on all parties involved to show restraint to prevent further escalation.

As tensions rise between Israel and Hezbollah, Japan is closely monitoring the situation and taking steps to protect its citizens in the region. The government’s swift response underscores its commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of Japanese nationals abroad.
