European, Arab, and Islamic nations have united in an initiative to bolster support for an independent Palestinian state and its institutions, aiming for a post-conflict resolution in Gaza and Lebanon. Led by Norway’s Foreign Minister, Espen Barth Eide, the international community acknowledges the need for a recognized Palestinian state and government.
The discussions address critical issues such as Israel’s security, mutual recognition, and Hamas’s demilitarization. With nearly 90 countries participating, the establishment of “The Global Alliance for the Implementation of a Palestinian State and a Two-State Solution” signals a renewed effort toward peace and stability in the region.
Building on past agreements like the Oslo Accords, the initiative emphasizes the importance of universal recognition of Palestine and the enhancement of Palestinian institutions. This collaborative approach seeks to break the deadlock and pave the way for a lasting two-state solution.
