Venezuelan Air Force Demonstrates Highway Landing Skills

The Venezuelan Military Aviation recently showcased its operational prowess during a unique training exercise where military aircraft successfully landed and took off from a highway stretch in La Marqueseña, Bolívar State. Led by Major General Royman Antonio Hernández Briceño, the drill aimed to enhance the air force’s tactical flexibility and readiness.

The exercise featured a diverse fleet of aircraft including the Hongdu K-8W Karakorum light attack planes, Diamond DA40NG Tunda Star trainers, and Cessna C208B Grand Caravan transport aircraft from specialized units within the Venezuelan Air Force.

Transport Air Group No. 9 supplied the C208B Grand Caravans, completing the diverse aircraft roster. This highway landing drill is part of a broader training initiative by the Venezuelan military aimed at boosting coordination and effectiveness in various mission scenarios.

By practicing unconventional takeoffs and landings, the military is enhancing its operational flexibility and showcasing its capabilities to both domestic and international audiences.

As Venezuela continues to invest in its military capabilities amidst geopolitical tensions, the Air Force’s focus on unconventional tactics and operational flexibility remains paramount.
