Investment Projects Worth $20 Billion Between Uzbekistan and UAE
During a recent meeting between Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and a UAE delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, it was revealed that the portfolio of ongoing and prospective investment projects between the two countries is valued at a staggering $20 billion.
The UAE delegation, which included prominent figures such as Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi and Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, discussed the significant increase in trade turnover in 2023, reaching $626 million. Currently, over 320 enterprises with Emirati capital are operating in Uzbekistan.
The meeting highlighted the focus on expanding partnerships in various sectors such as investments, green energy, education, healthcare, and tourism. Both sides agreed to establish a “roadmap” for comprehensive cooperation in strategic areas, paving the way for a new era of mutually beneficial collaboration between Uzbekistan and the UAE.
