In a recent announcement, the Turkish National Defense Ministry revealed that 36 PKK/YPG terrorists were “neutralized” in operations conducted in northern Iraq and northern Syria, near the Turkish border. Rear Adm. Zeki Akturk also mentioned that a total of 2,049 terrorists have been neutralized since January 1, with 1,046 in Iraq and 1,003 in northern Syria.
The term “neutralize” is used to indicate that the terrorists either surrendered, were captured, or killed. The constant threat from PKK terrorists in northern Iraq and YPG/PKK terrorists in northern Syria has led to ongoing efforts by Turkish security forces to maintain stability in the region.
Additionally, the ministry is closely monitoring developments in Lebanon, where Israel has been launching fierce attacks. Plans for a potential evacuation operation are being discussed in coordination with other institutions. The escalating situation in Lebanon, with over 610 casualties, has raised concerns globally, underscoring the need for swift and strategic responses to prevent further conflict.
