Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, along with Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Stenergard, led the ninth ministerial meeting in support of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in New York. Safadi emphasized the international community’s trust in UNRWA and its critical role in assisting Palestinian refugees.
Safadi urged for concrete financial and political support for UNRWA, highlighting the importance of each dollar in saving lives. He also called for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state as a step towards resolving the Palestinian cause and refugee issue.
In addition, Safadi participated in the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC) ministerial meeting, commending Norway for supporting the two-state solution and providing financial aid to Palestine. Safadi also emphasized the need to lift Israel’s international immunity and impose sanctions for its violations of international law.
Furthermore, discussions with other leaders focused on regional developments, halting Israeli aggression, and enhancing bilateral relations. Safadi’s efforts aim to promote peace and stability in the region while advocating for the rights of Palestinians.
