People Before Profit-Solidarity has unveiled their alternative budget plans, positioning them as a more financially responsible option compared to the Government’s approach. Their proposals, released today, include a 20% increase in Corporation Tax, the elimination of the Universal Social Charge for incomes below €100,000, and the allocation of the €14.1 billion Apple tax funds to establish a State construction firm.
Deputy Paul Murphy emphasized the transformative nature of these plans, distinguishing them from those of other parties. He criticized the Government for favoring short-term, one-off payments over sustainable, long-term tax and funding strategies.
Deputy Richard Boyd Barrett echoed Murphy’s sentiments, asserting that People Before Profit-Solidarity’s budget proposals are more financially prudent compared to the Government’s reported plans.
