Former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has called for an investigation into Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration as it nears its end in two months. Oshiomhole made this statement as Senator Monday Okpebholo, the winner of the recent governorship election in Edo State, was presented with his Certificate of Return by INEC.
Okpebholo is poised to succeed Obaseki, and Oshiomhole has urged the World Bank to investigate Obaseki’s use of the $75m fund for the Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation. Expressing his enthusiasm for the APC’s victory in the state, Oshiomhole emphasized the need for a new approach to governance.
Okpebholo, while receiving his certificate, expressed readiness to serve the people of Edo State and emphasized his willingness to collaborate with opposition parties for the benefit of the people. The opposition has raised concerns about election irregularities, but Okpebholo remains optimistic about his ability to lead Edo into a new era of development and progress.
