Morocco aims for digital inclusion in all regions with national strategy

The Moroccan government has unveiled the ambitious “National Strategy 2030 Digital Morocco” spearheaded by Ghita Mezzour, Minister of Digital Transition and Administration Reform. This comprehensive strategy aims to drive digital transformation across all regions, focusing on inclusivity in rural and mountainous areas. The initiative seeks to position Morocco as a digital leader, boost economic growth, enhance public services, and improve citizens’ quality of life.

Key initiatives include AI training programs at 12 public universities and the “Job in Tech” program aiming to train 15,000 young people nationwide, with plans for expansion in remote areas. The strategy also addresses internet access through the PNHD-2 initiative, providing 4G connectivity to 1,800 localities and establishing digital proximity centers for e-service accessibility.

Mezzour emphasized the importance of digital literacy for all Moroccans, emphasizing the strategy’s flexibility in addressing evolving digital challenges. Recent advancements in public administration digitalization have led to increased international rankings and the popularity of online services like “ma CNSS” and the Unified Social Registry (RSU). With a vision to establish Morocco as a regional digital hub, the “National Strategy 2030 Digital Morocco” is set to transform the nation’s digital landscape.
