Minister Amir Muqam seeks UN, Kabul support for Afghan refugees – Pakistan

Federal Minister Amir Muqam calls for international support in repatriating Afghan refugees from Pakistan. During a visit to a refugee camp in Saranan, Qila Abdullah, he promised assistance for a respectful return to Afghanistan. He highlighted Pakistan’s unique hospitality towards refugees and urged the Afghan government to prevent terrorist activities on its soil.

Addressing the refugees’ challenges, Muqam pledged to resolve health and water issues in camps. He emphasized the importance of education for refugee children and offered solar panels, scholarships, and educational opportunities. A meeting was held to discuss repatriation strategies and ensure the welfare of Afghan refugees in Pakistan.

Muqam’s visit aimed to assess the refugees’ situation and assure them of government support. He acknowledged the need for better healthcare, including more doctors and medicines, and a review of registration cards. The government plans to expand educational facilities, consult with UNHCR, and provide additional resources for refugee families.

With a focus on enhancing support for Afghan refugees, Muqam’s efforts aim to facilitate a dignified return to Afghanistan while ensuring their well-being in Pakistan.
